chillout

Pasca and Blossom with a "GayTM"

Sorry for the quiet blog the last few days, it's been hectic around here! The ChillOut Festival was in town here this weekend, and man was it crowded. That's the funny thing about living in an artsy, tourist town, it regularly floods with visitors on the weekends and holidays, and there is no shortage of enthusiasm for yearly events such as this one. It's a sort of gay pride celebration, with ongoing events such as community yoga, comedy nights, dance parties at local bars, formal lunches, and all other kinds of things. Sarah and I got a glimpse of the decorations on a walk one night, and then strolled into town to watch the parade go by Sunday morning. Colorful, loud fun. Here's a glimpse at the goings-on, I wasn't a real participant, but did plenty of people-watching and did squeeze in a few random dances in my wandering around town. Can't fight the music and good willed shouting escaping from every other doorway!

We walked into town just in time for this start to the parade

The theme this year was "Superheroes and Villains". Hence, dancing Robins!

Had my face painted after the parade, flaming eyes! Why not?

The rainbow flag was on display everywhere in town, just another addition to the typical window displays

And if there wasn't a flag in the window or hanging outside, you could be sure there was some other kind of rainbow paraphernalia about

Town Hall looking especially festive and beautiful
