maker's market

A very festive atmosphere, complete with food trucks and a great klezmer trio

A few days ago I tagged along with Sarah's friend (and Blossom's mother) Ange to the nearby town of Castlemaine where she was showing her pottery at a maker's market. We pulled up to the park, set up her stall, and then I took off to do a little exploring. The town is definitely a good bit bigger than Daylesford, but still has that cozy, comfortable feeling of a small community. There wasn't much going on, but I didn't mind, just strolled around and enjoyed the architecture, some window shopping, and great people watching. Then back to the market to check out the other sellers' wares. A low-key, leisurely afternoon.
Castlemaine's beautiful visitor center, complete with bike rentals
And a gallery of local artists
Have to be honest, thought something like this could make a great tattoo!
In The Restorer's Barn, a huge warehouse full of odds and ends for historic homes. The china room is amazing!
A wall of saucers looking for matching teacups and loving homes
I love a good toile

Love all the old town halls. Especially when they're decked out for the holidays

Lovely woodwork back at the market
Bridget Farmer's great print/paint work
My new necklace, made by Ange. Love it!
Evening sun and adorable father-daughter moment at the close of the market

  1. The one you thought looked like it would make a good tattoo, looks like a brain to me!
