Been meaning to post about this for quite a while now. There are so many things that have become routine in my stay here in Daylesford that I forget that they're all new and possibly exciting to everyone else back "home"! The Sunday market is just one of those things. Just down the street from Hightor, at an old rail station, tons of stalls selling everything from local fruit and veg, food products, housewares, books, toys, jewelry, clothes, plants, you name it. It's always fun to stroll around and have a look, and this week was extra entertaining since Pasca and Blossom set up a lemonade stand. They did good business and made quite a bit of profit (which was then spent at the market and on sweets at the pool later on). And so, without further adieu, enjoy the market!

Fancy this clock? Typical Sunday market find! |
Beautiful rugs |
Beautiful faces |

Handmade hats |
Every kind of nut |
Vintage tools. Why not? |
Dry goods: nuts, grains, dried fruit, candy, etc. |
Just being silly |
Stalls under the trees on a hot day. Nothing better. |
Icy poles, lollies, green juice, successful market day |
Local jams, pickles, kasundis, yum! |
The old station and tracks |
And when you're done- just walk back up the hill to Hightor! |
You're welcome for your little Turkish bowl! Some more stuff coming your way from our latest jaunt through South East Asia. Keep your eyes open! The market looked like fun. Is it a year round thing? Looking forward to seeing it when we come visit! Ciao bella. :-)
