preserved lemons

Made it safely to my house yesterday, and already adjusted to the time change, helped out making some preserved lemons. Super simple, and we should be able to enjoy them in about a month!

All it took was cutting an X into the top of the lemons, stuffing the cavity with salt, throwing in whatever else you think would be good, and topping it all off with hot water.
We threw in cinnamon sticks, crushed cardamom, pink peppercorns (off a giant pepper tree across the street), and a few habaƱero peppers. Yum!

More about the house and town and work later, it's been a great day and I just want to relax and walk around a bit. But the great news- there is free wifi at the library! I'll be able to blog and email from here almost every day if I feel like it!
